Hitachi, Alvarion Join Hands for Mobile WiMAX Technology

Japanese Hitachi and Israeli Alvarion recently agreed to jointly develop broadband wireless access systems based on mobile WiMAX technology. Leveraging Alvarion's base station technology and Hitachi's know-how in wireless construction and maintenance as well as mobile gateways, these two companies are projected to develop comprehensive system solutions for use in carrier-grade applications. The 2.5GHz wireless band will be employed in the joint project.
